The following release notes describe the program changes up to the current version.

Version 3.0 released March 2024:
- Fix format of left side control panel so full text of all controls is displayed.
- When choosing Edit Title on a long title, the dialog is resized to match initial title length.
- Fix bug colour selection shown on Font dialog, removed, colours are set separate to fonts.
- Updated code libraries to latest versions.
Version 2.9 released November 2022:
- Add the option of a Vertical Cursor controlled by the mouse on 2D plots.
- Fix Y-axis labelling bug for zero span sweep time traces.
- Fix possible bug error message about missing config file when closing newly installed program.

Version 2.6 released August 2021:

Version 2.5 released July 2021:
- Removed all registration code checks and made program completely free.

Version 2.3 released June 2019:
- Bug fix so program will properly default to recognize windows font encoding if the input file is not UTF8 encoded.

Version 2.2 released May 2018:
- User preferences are now stored in the user's AppData\Roaming\TracePlot folder rather than windows registry.
- Minor changes in layout and text box size to improve the appearance of some windows, depending upon the user's
currently selected Windows theme.
- Improved file checking and error reporting.
- Fixed bug where displayed number of points per trace (number in brackets written on bottom left) could be wrong if
there were multiple traces per input file.
- Fixed bug where files produced by Merge Trace Files tool could contain blank lines within the trace list data.
Version 2.1 released September 2016:
- Fixed bug where Frequency Band 4 colour button failed to work.
- Fixed bug where program and Uninstaller was missing from Control Panel "Uninstall or change a program".
This was an issue in Windows 8 or later where an Uninstall link is not allowed in the Start menu.
- Improvements to the installer, especially when installing in multi-user environments.
- Improved animated wait cursor for Windows 7 and later.

Version 2.0 released June 2016:
TracePlot version 2.0 was completely rewritten using a new GUI library.
- A Recent Files list was added to the file menu, providing quick access to recently used carrier files.
A Clear Recent History item also included in the file menu, for those who'd rather forget recent files.
- Save Image now allows a wider range of image file types, not just BMP.
- TracePlot now loads any saved Preferences automatically at start-up, rather than forcing you to manually select Load
Preferences.
- TracePlot now includes a status bar at the bottom of the main window. The status bar has 5 sections.
The first section shows help text as the user highlights items in the menus. The second section shows the names
of the currently loaded trace files. The third section shows the currently selected Trace file format.
The fourth section shows the number of traces currently loaded. And the last section shows the current X,Y size
of the image display.
- A new Tools menu was added. This includes menu items to allow the user to Add, Modify or Delete, custom Trace
file format specs.
- In the Tools menu, a new command was added to allow users to merge multiple contiguous trace files into a single trace
file.
This replicates the functionality of our previous TraceMerge program.
- The File Open command now allows the user to select multiple trace files at once (up to the program limit of 6 traces).
- The Trace Colours tab on the Preferences dialog now includes a Trace Line Width setting.
- All of the current projects settings can now be saved to the traceset settings file, including fonts and 3D view
positions.
