Release Date:  January 2007.

The following main features were added or changed in version 3.01:

New Features

  • Added labels to the elevation contours shown on the map in the Map window, to clarify which contour is which, especially when zoomed.
  • Decimal values are now allowed in the cells for minutes and seconds in earth station latitude and longitude.
  • The ITU Altitude Estimate tool now reports the altitude according to the ITU database and then allows the user to accept this value or reject it and keep the existing altitude entry, instead of just automatically overwriting the existing value.
  • New item 'Run Batch Report' in the file menu.  This new item allows the user to quickly produce a GEOPoint report for a list of locations contained in a text file, instead of manually entering data and running a report for each site individually.
  • New View menu on the Map window, that provides an alternative way to zoom the map using 'Zoom In' and 'Zoom Out' menu items.
  • New option to save the image currently displayed in the Map window, using 'File - Save Image' menu item.  The saved image includes the map, site location marker, and elevation contours.
  • New item in the Tools menu to Sort a TLE file (Norad two-line elements input file).  Typically these files come sorted based on when the satellite was originally launched, but this tool allows the user to produce a TLE file that is sorted alphabetically based on the satellite name.

Bug Fixes & Other Refinements

  • All latitude/longitude calculations have been reviewed to ensure conformance with WGS84 standard earth ellipsoid.
  • Bug fix - window redraw bug when user tried to highlight a value on one of the tab sheets is fixed.
  • Bug fix - a rounding bug whereby entering decimal degrees could sometimes end up with a seconds value of 60 which caused a range checking error is fixed.
  • Bug fix - a bug where zoom map would not work after user had viewed the GEOArc with satellites labeled from an input file is fixed.
